Barrier-Free Banking

FACILITATING ACCESS TO FINANCIAL SERVICES

In order to facilitate access to its products and services within the scope of barrier-free banking practices, Ziraat Bank launches applications for visually impaired and orthopedically impaired individuals in both its branches and ATMs, and carries out renovation and replacement works.

With the renovations carried out at Ziraat Bank branches in 2023 and 2024;

  • In all branches, accessible walking surface modifications for visually impaired individuals have been completed, and this initiative continues seamlessly in newly opened branches and in new locations of relocated branches.

  • The number of ramps in branches with elevation differences was 1,024, while the number of branches without elevation differences increased from 487 to 501. Elevator systems are installed in branches with high elevation differences, and the number of elevators increased from 51 to 63.

  • All branch stairs have anti-slip tape application.

  • In all branches, an information board with embossed lettering is installed at the entrance doors to assist visually impaired individuals, and a call button is provided for all persons with disabilities.

  • Accessible restrooms for individuals with disabilities are available in 280 branches of Ziraat Bank.

Within the scope of barrier-free banking, orthopedically disabled customers are served through 267 specially designed ATMs, with visually impaired customers served with 6,389 ATMs. Ziraat Bank ATMs feature Braille instructions in all areas accessible to customers. Audio menu service is available for visually impaired customers using a headset input.

In-class sign language training is provided for Ziraat Bank Video Call Center employees in accordance with the “Regulation on Remote Identification Methods to be Used by Banks and Establishment of Contractual Relationship in Electronic Environment.” In addition, the Right Approach to Disability and Sign Language e-trainings are assigned to the relevant employees.

2025 and Beyond

It is planned to implement arrangements that will facilitate access to financial services for individuals with disabilities in the physical conditions of the branches scheduled to undergo renovation.
