With the financial inclusion approach, Ziraat Bank contributes to the economy by reaching groups with limited access to financial products through its diversified loans and sustainable themed financing opportunities offered for the requirements and expectations of the agricultural sector and farmers, SMEs, women, and young entrepreneurs
Supporting Women and Young Population in Agricultural Production
Encouraging young and women producers in the agricultural sector is critical to support sustainable agricultural production and rural development. Defining one of the main components of its Financing of Agricultural Ecosystem strategy as ‘accessible financing’, Ziraat Bank aims to increase the income of women and young farmers by supporting their entrepreneurial power, to boost rural employment, and to increase the share of the young population in agriculture.
The Bank offers Sustainability Themed Agricultural Loan Products within the framework of the applications including young people and women in the agricultural ecosystem for the continuity of agricultural activities. To that end, the Bank offered Women Farmer Loans and Young Farmer Loans, extending TL 119 billion in financing to young farmers and TL 35 billion to women farmers in 2024.
Ziraat Bank supports entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector with the financing resources it provides, contributing to the creation of new job opportunities for the young population and increasing the employment of women in rural areas.
Loan Packages Strengthening Financial Inclusion
To increase diversity and inclusion in economic activity, Ziraat Bank develops projects to support the commercial activities of young and women entrepreneurs, meet their financial requirements, and provide services to segments with limited access to resources.
Ziraat Bank offers the Women Entrepreneur Support Package, which includes advantageous banking products and services, to further empower women entrepreneurs in commercial life and encourage their greater participation in the national economy. Within the scope of the package, TL 1.5 billion in loans were extended in 2024.
As part of the Young Entrepreneur Support Package launched to support the commercial activities of young entrepreneurs, the Bank contributed to meeting the financial requirements of young entrepreneurs by extending TL 1.7 billion in loans in 2024.
Supports for Increasing the Export Capacity of SMEs
Ziraat Bank provides financing to increase the export volumes of SMEs operating in exporting or FX-earning sectors and to increase the number of exporting companies within the framework of its collaborations with the Credit Guarantee Institution and İhracatı Geliştirme A.Ş.
As of year-end 2024, the Bank extended TL 2.3 billion in loans under the Credit Guarantee Institution Export Support Credit. In the same period, TL 1.6 billion was extended within the scope of the Credit Guarantee Institution Support Loan-3 Package, which was launched to ensure the continued support provided to SMEs. Within the framework of the İGE 100th Anniversary Treasury Support Program, TL 2 billion in loans were extended by the end of 2024 to meet the financing requirements of exporter companies.
Wide Service Network and Digital Banking Increasing Access to Financial Products and Services
Ziraat Bank offers its products and services to the public via its 1,753 branches nationwide, as well as through an extensive ATM network and digital channels. Considering financial access as one of its primary duties, the Bank provides services with a total of 7,684 ATMs, being the only Bank providing ATM services in 116 districts of our country.
Through its investments in technology infrastructure in line with its branchless banking strategy, Ziraat Bank ensures that every segment of society can securely access financial services via Ziraat Mobile and Internet Banking, without any time and location constraints. The number of Ziraat Bank’s active digital customers increased every year, reaching 23.1 million in 2024. Offering individual customers the convenience to benefit from banking services through digital channels without having to visit a branch, Ziraat Super Branch served 1.2 million customers in 2024.
As part of its strategy to create a digital financial ecosystem, the Bank also contributes to the digital transformation of SMEs with Z-Transformation Packages.
Programs Contributing to Financial Literacy
Considering financial literacy a fundamental life skill essential for the financial well-being of its customers and their families, Ziraat Bank undertakes initiatives to help individuals use their financial resources effectively and make informed financial decisions.
The Bank views the enhancement of financial literacy as a requirement of its social responsibility and provides guidance to the public through educational videos with different content tailored for diverse groups.
In this context, the Bank’s corporate website provides access to training materials prepared under the topics of Financial Literacy, Good Debt Bad Debt, Suggestions for Those Without Regular Income, Points to Consider Before Buying a House, Points to Consider Before Getting Married, Suggestions for Young People, Savings and Accumulation, Investment, and Risk Management, in addition to Special E-Learning for Children.
Continuous Training Practices to Enhance Employee Competencies
Ziraat Bank employees participate in training programs offered by the Bank in order to develop the professional and technical competencies required by their duties throughout their entire career journey, starting from the first day of their employment. With more than 100 years of heritage, Ziraat Bank Banking School contributes to the training of qualified human resources for the finance sector in our country. In 2024, 191 assistant specialists, 31 assistant inspectors, and 17 assistant internal controllers qualified to attend the Banking School training through the Bank’s recruitment examination.
As part of the activities of Ziraat Bank Banking School, more than 8,000 e-training materials supporting leadership and competency development for employees are offered on the online platform. Bank employees are assigned weekly catalog-based training programs in accordance with their roles and responsibilities. A Managerial School Training Program is organized for prospective executives. In addition, Ziraat Bank encourages its employees to participate in the Banking School graduate programs offered in cooperation with Ankara University and provides them with the opportunity to further their banking experience at an academic level.
